Postal food drive is a success

To the editor:

It is hard to put into words the thanks and gratitude to the people of this city and county for your generosity and support of the Harrison County Food Pantry. You just out did yourself again this year. Over 4,000 pounds of food was collected. A great big thank you goes to our postal employees that collect and weigh all this food. I know this is extra work, time and effort on their part, but without them, this would not be a success.

And while I am passing out roses, there are two other men I want to thank. They went to the post office, picked up the food and delivered it to the Food Pantry. These men are there every year. These men are Neal Techau, who uses Ken’s New Market delivery truck and Raymond Frederick.

There are many more volunteers that work throughout the year, in some capacity helping the Pantry. You know who you are and you are very much appreciated. We could not do without each of you.

I have made this statement before and I will make it again. This is the most giving and caring community I have ever seen or heard about. There are always food drives going on somewhere in our community. Thank God I am privileged to live in such a community.

Remember, God loves a cheerful giver and “you can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.”

God bless each of you.
