Case reports

Jan. 1 At 12:02 a.m., police arrested Anthony W. Kerr for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, menacing and terroristic threatening. According to the report filed by Sgt. Tim Wells, Kerr acted out violently during the arrest.Jan. 1 At 9:46 a.m., a report was made regarding an apparent break-in at the Clothes Closet and the Child Support office.

Jan. 3 At 9:26 p.m., Terrell Sutton reported that he found drug paraphernalia on the steps leading to his apartment at 102 N. Walnut St. The paraphernalia was a homemade crack pipe made from a prescription pill bottle.

Jan. 4 At 1:59 a.m., Billy J. Sumpter Jr. reported that he had been assaulted outside Victory Lane Bar on South Walnut Street. Sumpters hand was slashed by an unknown man.

Jan. 4 At 10:30 a.m., Luther Turner reported that a license plate was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at Harrison Square.

Jan. 5 At 1:15 p.m., a Church Street woman reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her by head-butting her. She had also been held inside a closet for a time.

Jan. 5 At 6:21 p.m., police investigated an alleged fight between James Cutwright and Howard Custard on Pearl Street.

Jan. 6 At 1:25 p.m., a 30-year-old woman reported she was assaulted by three Hispanic men in the parking lot of Hillside Apartments. The victim told police she was partying with the men in Carlisle and fell asleep in their car on the way home. She woke up to them beating her. Her cellular telephone was also reported missing.

Jan. 6 At 1:43 p.m., Charlotte Brown reported that a water heater was taken from the residence at 170 Spruce Drive from where she was moving.

Jan. 7 At 12:14 a.m., Wanda Sgro, manager at Wal-Mart, reported that she saw an individual push a cart full of merchandise past the cash registers and was about to exit the store when she grabbed the cart and asked for a receipt. The man said the woman with him had the receipt. The female dropped a vase of flowers in an attempt to distract Sgro. However, Sgro held on to the cart, which contained a computer, clothing and food items totaling $756.89. The three suspects fled the store without the merchandise.

Jan. 7 At 12:45 p.m., Tim Chapman of Wal-Mart reported that a man was in the store claiming that when he had cashed his check there the day before he was given counterfeit $100 bills. However, police reviewed the stores security camera and the man was not given any $100 bills. The investigation into the possession of forged instruments and theft by deception is continuing.

Jan. 7 At 7:33 p.m., Ann Martin, Plum Court, reported that he purse was missing after a neighbor helped her carry some items into her home from Wal-Mart.

Jan.7 -- At 8:57 p.m., witnesses saw someone take a battery from a truck on Locust Street.

Jan. 8 At 7:24 p.m., police investigated a domestic violence on Cherokee Drive.

Jan. 8 At 9:03 p.m., Larry Nichols reported that seven radiators and four car batteries were taken from vehicles on his lot on North Main Street.

Jan. 9 At 9:03 a.m., Dixie McKinley, reported that someone removed three car batteries from vehicle and equipment on McKnight Alley.

Jan. 9 At 10 a.m., Stephanie Dixon, Davis Lane, reported that her wallet was taken from her work bag while she was at work at 3M Co.

Jan. 9 At 12:03 p.m., Richard Jones, Owenton, reported that a dual-wheeled trailer under construction and six tires and wheels were taken from Russ Avenue.

Jan. 9 At 7:22 p.m., Charles Thomas was turning his semi off of Bridge Street onto Railroad Avenue and struck a street sight.

Jan. 9 At 9:55 p.m., Gene Keyse of Wal-Mart reported that Stacy Barnes went into Wal-Mart to return a bra and received a sticker for the merchandise. Barnes allegedly removed the sticker and put it on a stroller/carrier that was valued at $199 and tried to get the money back and was told no by customer service. Barnes allegedly went to the womens department and put a package of ladies underwear in her purse. Keyse followed her outside the store and called police. She was charged with theft by unlawful taking, shoplifting.

Jan. 10 At 6 p.m., Jeff Hopkins reported that his apartments on Second Street were damaged by water coming up through the drains, bathtub and toilets in all three apartments. The water covered the flood in each of the apartments.

Jan. 11 At 5:02 p.m., Jason Gooden reported that a red Mustang ran into his yard on Elmarch Avenue and struck his metal mailbox knocking it down.

Jan. 11 At 9:43 p.m., an Old Lair Road man reported that his son had received several threatening phone calls on his cell phone.

Jan. 10 At 10:58 p.m., Timothy Clark, Newsom Avenue, reported that his wallet and its contents were missing. He told police he last saw the wallet the previous day around 4 p.m.

Jan. 12 At 8:44 p.m., it was reported that Douglas Ingram was injured while at his sisters drinking with other family members. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a cut over his eye.

Jan. 12 At 11:14 p.m., a Hillside man reported that he had been threatened by an individual.

Jan. 14 At 3:14 a.m., Woody D. Carson reported that someone took his cell phone while it was on the charger at a residence on Midnight Court.

Jan. 14 At 9:50 a.m., a Walnut Street woman reported that she believes she threw away a prescription for her sons medicine and that she now needs to get the prescription filled.

Jan. 16 At 11 a.m., Mike Bias of the Cynthiana Housing Authority turned in a bag containing a green, leafy material that was discovered in one of the houses being reconstructed.

Jan. 16 At 6:34 p.m., Rosetta M. Cunningham reported that a cell phone was taken from her daughters residence at Glenwood Court.

Jan. 16 At 11:11 p.m., Carman Ayala reported that she had been assaulted.

Jan. 16 At 11:53 p.m., a Third Street woman reported that she had received offensive phone calls from her grandsons ex-girlfriend.

Accident reports

Jan. 2 At 12:50 p.m., Deborah L. Stidham, 11/55, Cynthiana, driving a 1992 Ford Tempo, collided with a 2001 Toyota Corolla, driven by Neva Lanning, 5/25, Cynthiana, at the intersection of Main and Pike streets.

Jan. 8 At 11:25 a.m., James C. Mastin, 9/42, Cynthiana, driving a 2001 Chevrolet 300 Deluxe, was attempting to parallel park on Walnut Street and the extended hitch struck the front bumper of a 2005 Toyota Camry, owned by Tassy Watkins, Cynthiana.

Jan. 10 At 1:35 p.m., Megan D. Poe, 9/87, Cynthiana, driving a 1992 Chevrolet Corsica, could not stop her vehicle at Bridge Street stop sign and struck a 2007 Mazda 6, driven by Anah C. Switzer, 1/90, Cynthiana, in the rear.

Jan. 14 At 2:28 p.m., Itai Bear, 11/90, Cynthiana, driving a 1992 Toyota Camry, ran into the rear of a 1996 Honda Accord, driven by Jared Morrison, 18, Cynthiana, on Oddville Avenue. Morrison had braked to keep from hitting a Malibu that had pulled out in front of him from Thrift. Bear could not stop in time to avoid the collision.

Arrests, citations, warnings

Jan. 6 -- Penny Williams, 41, was arrested on South Walnut Street and charged with alcohol intoxication.

Jan. 6 -- Rachel M. Kenney, 27, was arrested on Pleasant Street on a warrant for license to be in possession.

Jan. 6 -- Charles A. Tucker, 24, was arrested on Poplar Street and charged wit alcohol intoxication.

Jan. 7 -- Roy A. Allen, 49, was arrested at 220 S. Walnut St. and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and disorderly conduct second.

Jan. 9 -- Obie D. Roberts, 52, was arrested on Pike Street and charged with disorderly conduct second.

Jan. 9 -- Stacy Barnes, 23 was arrested at Wal-Mart and charged with theft by unlawful taking, shoplifting.

Jan. 9 -- Michael D. McKinney, 50, was arrested on Main Street on a warrant for contempt of court.

Jan. 10 -- Donna M. McGee, 48, was arrested at Harrison House and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and first degree criminal trespass first.

Jan. 12 -- Jeremy Garrison, 18, was cited for disregarding a stop sign on Ky. 3016.

Jan. 12 -- Chelsy Asher, 23, was arrested on Water Street on a warrant for contempt of court.

Jan. 12 -- Michael Wilson, 17, was cited at Bridge and Church streets for inadequate silencer, failure to produce insurance card and instructional permit violation.

Jan. 13 -- Charles A. Tucker, 24, was arrested on Pearl Street on a warrant for receiving stolen property.

Jan. 13 -- Michael Moore, 34, was arrested on Delta Court and charged with alcohol intoxication.

Jan. 15 -- Obie D. Roberts, 52, was arrested on Walnut Street and charged with alcohol intoxication.
