The Cynthiana Police Department will be looking for motorcyclists this weekend as part of a mini-mobilization.
With increased motorcycle fatality rates in Kentucky, Sgt. Wilbur Gross said police officers will be paying close attention to motorcyclists this Saturday and Sunday.
“We’re going to be focusing on the laws pertaining to motorcyclists,” Gross said.
Gross said motorcycles will be stopped to check for insurance, permits, licenses and the use of a helmet.
Due to the mini-mobilization, Gross said additional officers will be on duty this weekend.
Gross said this weekend’s efforts will be paid for with part of the $17,000 state traffic grant the department received in December.
