Charges have been filed against a Cynthiana man and woman for allegedly possessing and selling drugs.
According to a Cynthiana Police Department report filed by Sgt. Wilbur Gross on Friday, May 8, he and fellow officers went to a Penn Street residence in search of an individual for whom they had an arrest warrant.
Jeffrey Streitenberger told police the subject was not in his home and gave permission for officers to go inside and look around.
Gross said that once they were inside, Streitenberger tried to conceal a tin container in the bedroom. Streitenberger allegedly told police he had one marijuana cigarette inside the residence. Police found 51 hand-rolled marijuana cigarettes, three clean baggies containing what was believed to be marijuana, a metal marijuana grinder, scales, wooden container, $265 in cash as well as numerous pills, some suspected to be Lortabs.
Officers arrested Streitenberger, 34, and charged him with four drug-related offenses, including trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking marijuana and trafficking a controlled substance, drug unspecified.
Jessica L. Lambert, 22, was also inside the residence. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, drug unspecified and prescription [controlled substance] not in proper container.
