Peggy Carson Community Service Award

-A A +A

The Carson family would like to announce this year’s Peggy Carson Community Service award was presented to Robert Newcomb.
It has been over a year now that we lost the most beautiful, loving and giving woman our mama. The family wanted to establish an award in her memory for all of the great things she did, what she stood for and for all of the lives that she touched.
Mama was a christian woman who loved and adored her family. We wanted someone who loved and devoted their life not only to their family and the fire department but someone who helps the community as well. Those in the community who were blessed to know her knew Peggy Carson wore many hats. The family was looking for someone who is loyal, respectful, trusting, honorable and involved in the community.
This year’s recipient Robert Newcomb has been a member of the Harrison County Fire Department for seven years and has been dedicated and shows remarkable compassion. When we spoke with his co-workers we knew right away that we had made an excellent choice. Their remarks were: “He goes over and beyond his job description.” “Sees the bigger picture and does alot of out of the ordinary to make things special for the kids.” “He is a christian man and carries this into his work.” “It is very noticable to everyone that he truly cares with compassion for the children.” “His outstanding service and dedication makes him an angel in disguise.”
You know good people will be remembered as a blessing. So it was with great honor that we presented the Peggy Carson Community Service award for outstanding loyalty, honor, compassion and community service to Robert Newcomb.
