Kentucky Highway 36 West was closed for over an hour early Wednesday morning while towing crews removed an overturned tractor-trailer carrying three steel bridge girders.
The 1999 Peterlait semi-truck was traveling westbound from Virginia when the truck rounded a curve and overturned.
“The load shifted on the trailer and caused the trailer to start to turn over,” said Harrison County Sheriff’s deputy Robert Peak, who responded to the 12:11 a.m. call. “All three girders came off the trailer and landed in front of somebody’s barn. The trailer flipped completely upside down and the semi-truck came to rest on the driver’s side.”
