Two days of arctic weather brought out cold-weather gear and kept in many residents.
just another day on the job — It doesn’t matter about the frigid temperatures when there’s work to be done. David Watson of Ravenna bundled up and got busy delivering gas tanks to customers around downtown Cynthiana in temperatures that were barely above freezing.
courthouse shelter — During the subzero temperatures Sunday and Monday night, Judge-Executive Alex Barnett authorized the use of the courthouse for overnight shelter. Though there were no takers for Sunday night, there were two early arrivals on Monday, a very grateful Thomas B. Francis and Douglas M. Burk (far right). ReJeana Craft, Gayle Velat and Betty Barker welcomed them and set up cots, food, and warm drinks. At 10 p.m., when no other persons had shown up to request shelter for the night, the local Red Cross arranged accommodations for the men at the Evergreen Motel.
