Northside Elementary school is on lockdown after the school received a letter in the mail of “questionable content” Thursday.
The letter did not threaten any students.
A note was sent home to parents Thursday afternoon explaining the situation.
The letter, from principal Sharon Hill and Harrison County School superintendent Andy Dotson, says that authorities have been contacted about the situation and the school remains in lockdown as a safety precaution.
School security officers were placed at the entrance of the school Friday.
“We can assure you that our first priority is the safety and security of our students and employees,” the note reads.
Information will be updated as it is obtained.
