On Wednesday, April 27, for the 22nd year in a row, 28 students from Harrison County Middle School attended and participated in a discussion of 10 books which were winners and contendors for the Newbery Award. This award is given annually for excellence in children’s literature. The discussion was held with the masters level LIS 611 Critical Analysis of Children’s Literature class at the University of Kentucky. The UK and Harrison County students read, analyzed, critiqued, and voted on the books chosen for the panel.
