New stadium plans axed by state

There will be no new athletic complex where the existing Harrison County High School stadium stands.

This announcement came at Tuesday?s school board meeting.

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) nixed the project as first presented citing too much money being spent on athletics compared to that earmarked for academic benefits, said Ron Murrell, architect with Ross and Tarrant.
