To the editor:

On Feb. 6, 2008, our lives changed forever. Only by the grace of God, were we spared and given the opportunity to rebuild what once was our home and our lives.

Betsy and I would like to sincerely thank our family, our friends and our local community for all the prayers and gifts that have been provided to us during this difficult time in our lives. We are so blessed that the only loss in Harrison County was material in nature and we had no loss of life. The material items can be replaced.

Again, Betsy and I would like to thank everyone for their display of love and affection. May God bless each of you.

To the editor:

We would like to thank the entire community for all help we received following the tornado which caused massive damage to our properties on Feb. 6, 2008 on Connersville Pike.

Friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers, Red Cross, Salvation Army, various church groups and organizations, all showed up to help with clean-up, tree and debris removal, moving furniture, rebuilding fending, packing up household items, as well as with food and monetary help, as well as just trying to ease the pain in any way they could.

We appreciated this more than anyone will ever know. This community effort was more than we ever expected, and helped tremendously to lift our spirits at a time when we all felt so devastated and helpless.

It is so overwhelming to see the damage yet realize there are so many wonderful folks around to lend a helping hand, or just to inquire how we are. What a wonderful community we have.
