* Cynthiana Democrat, May 25,1911 - “In an effort to save her son, Mary Welch and Robert Welch were killed by the cars. Mary J. Welch and her son Robert were struck by a train on the Keller Bridge north of Cynthiana Saturday (May 20) and were thrown into the South Licking. They were instantly killed. Seventy-eight years of age, she was formerly Miss Kearns. Her husband, who was a Federal soldier, had been dead for a number of years. A daughter died about a year ago in Lexington.
