* Log Cabin, April 21, 1950 - “Excerpt from a history of the Court House as written by Mrs. Marshall McDowell- ‘There is a tradition that the trial of Adam and Andrew House for murder was held in the log house back of the public square. Circuit court records state that the first Circuit Court for Harrison County was established Feb. 7, 1803 at the courthouse. The records state that it continued to meet there. In June 1806 Circuit Court met at the courthouse and the House brothers were tried at that session.
