* Cynthiana Democrat, March 2, 1944 -- “The formal opening to the public of the National Bank of Cynthiana building, recently remodeled after it had burned in a destructive fire the latter part of August, was held Saturday evening. Hundreds of people visited the beautiful banking house where they were greeted by bank officials and personnel of the institution. Dr. Bob Loftin’s ‘Commanders’ furnished beautiful music for the occasion. Solos were by J. C. Watkins and Carolyn Stevens.”
