* Log Cabin, Feb. 4, 1905 -- “Mr. John W. Daniel has had a big force of hands employed recently in harvesting ice, and has paid out a considerable sum of money at a season of the year when work is scarce for the laborer. Mr. Daniel put up 700 to 800 tons of fine clear ice, from six to nine inches in thickness.” (Have you seen the ice exhibit at the museum?)
