A district-wide letter was sent home with Harrison County students Monday advising that a student has a staph infection.
Westside Elementary Principal Jon Hoskins said a doctor-confirmed case of MRSA or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus has been reported in one of his students.
“All of the necessary precautions have been taken and will continue to be taken,” Hoskins said Tuesday afternoon.
Dee Gee Fischer, assistant superintendent, said intensive cleaning, under WEDCO and the Center for Disease Control guidelines, is underway.
