To the editor:

I want to urge the citizens of Cynthiana to vote Steve Moses as your next mayor. I have been friends with Mr. Moses and his family since childhood and cannot think of a more dedicated and honest citizen to lead our town. I feel a strong leader is someone who is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and put in an honest day of hard work. Mr. Moses is no stranger to hard work. He worked for 27 years at the State Highway Department. He has the experience to manage our city streets.

As a school teacher, I find myself wishing there was a Steve Moses in the community where I work. He found local farmers to donate greenhouses to all public schools and to St. Edward’s Catholic School, then constructed the greenhouses himself, for the Healthy Communities project. The schools can grow their own produce for snacks or to sell at the local Farmer’s Market. And the best part, all proceeds will be returned to the school. The benefit for Mr. Moses from this project was not monetary; it was to do something positive for our community.

Mr. Moses is an active citizen of this community. Always giving his time. I witnessed Mr. Moses being active, along with my uncle Rick Chasteen, in getting new bathroom facilities at River Road Park. They have provided this community with a cleaner environment for children and families at our local ball park.

We need a mayor who will not spend his entire day behind a desk. We need someone who will lend a hand on the streets of Cynthiana. I know that Mr. Moses will be fair, and has the experience to be a great citizen, leader and listener to the citizens of Cynthiana.
