Slick roads proved to be treacherous for Monday morning drivers.
“It just caught everyone off guard...” Sheriff Bruce Hampton said Monday afternoon. “It was a bad morning.”
Hampton said the Sheriff’s Department responded to eight wrecks between 6:50 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. on White Oak Pike, US 27 North, Republican Pike, Ky Hwy 1054, Ky Hwy 36 West, US 62 West and US 62 East.
“At 6 a.m. it was fine,” Hampton said about the roadways. “At ten ‘til seven, snow flurries picked up and turned to ice.”
