A Cynthiana man was arrested last week after being served a misdemeanor warrant and was allegedly found with heroin in his pocket.
Cynthiana Police Sgt. Wilbur Gross and Cpl. Walter Tapp saw Matthew Sumpter, 32, inside Thrift Food Mart about 1 p.m. Tuesday and suspected there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a no operator’s license charge.
Gross said that Sumpter is now also facing Class D felony charges of trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin) first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
