The farm field day in Harrison County will be held at the farm of Mike and Shelley Meyer on Monday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. The farm is located on Highway 32 or Connersville Pike, four and one-half miles from Highway 27.
The Meyer’s have a beef production farm with corn, hay and tobacco production as well. The farm is going through some major changes at the present time and producers will get to see many of the improvements which will aid in future operations.
Programs will include water development, feeding area development, and seed demonstrations. One additional program will be an optional method of dealing with deceased animals on the farm. As usual, following the farm tour we will have a steak dinner prepared by the Harrison County Beef Cattle Association.
Since we will be limited on daylight we will start the field day at 5 p.m. sharp with a meal concluding the event. We ask that you call the Harrison County Extension Office at 234-5510 by Friday, Oct. 5 so we can prepare accordingly.
I would also like to invite everyone to come and observe this farm. If you would like to come and have little or no farm interest, feel free to observe many of the items affecting farms in the central Kentucky area. Don’t forget to call if you plan to attend.
