The proposal that many thought would redeem the horse industry in Kentucky and return it to the national status once held, has been defeated by Kentucky law makers.
State Rep. Tom McKee, who represents the 78th District that includes Harrison County, said Tuesday that he voted in favor of the expanded gambling at race tracks.
However, that vote was in vain because the bill never made it out of the Senate committee.
