McConnell, Sims retire from FSA posts

-A A +A

The Harrison County Farm Service Agency (FSA) has experienced many changes in programs they administer and the customers they serve. In November and December, the Agency saw its most noted change with the retirements of two employees Sandi McConnell and Barry Sims.
McConnell began her career with the (Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service – ASCS) in 1986 at the Robertson County Office and later transferred to the Cynthiana Office FSA where she served the farmers of Harrison County administering farm programs. She always greeted them with a smile and willing attitude. Her career with the Agency saw many changes and she was always eager to accept new programs and assist others with a positive demeanor. She retired on Nov. 30, 2011 with 25 years of service to USDA.
Sims retired Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 with 32 years of USDA FSA (and ASCS) service. The producers of Harrison County will miss Barry’s quick wit and outstanding customer service. He will also be greatly missed by the office staff and his fellow employees where he was well known as a leader in the district. Sims was considered as one of the top County Executive Directors in the State and his expertise was used by the Agency on many occasions.
