Cynthiana Mayor Jim Brown had a stroke on Christmas Eve and is recuperating at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
According to Jack Keith, mayor pro-tem, Brown was at home at the time of the stroke and was taken to Harrison Memorial Hospital, then flown to UK. He said hospital staff has asked that he have no visitors at this time.
Keith will serve as mayor in Brown’s absence at least until Dec. 31. The new commission, of which Keith is a part, will take over Jan. 1.
