For many families in Harrison County, Christmas wasn’t quite the same as in years past.

“Christmas is kind of skimpy this year,” said Jane Doe, in her living room one Monday morning. “This year I just wanted to give the kids a good Christmas since their dad was gone.”

John Doe is currently serving in Afghanistan. He has been gone a year and won’t return home until March.
