The Shamrock Shuffle 3K was held in Lexington last Saturday with Harrison County native and Georgetown College runner Luke Garnett the overall winner. Garnett set a record time for the race, which is run through the streets of Lexington, of 9:10 for the 3K distance. This is the fourth year of the event which benefits the Humane Society.
There were 16 runners from the county from ages eight to 50. Debbie Biddle also won her age group as did Garnett since he was the overall winner. Biddle’s time was 13:38.
Others finishing in the top 10 of their age group were Steven Fowler who was third in his group; 8-year-old Trinity Hubbard, who was eighth in her group; and April Stroub who was ninth in her group. There were 1,600 runners starting the race and 1,556 who finished.
