To the editor:

In last week’s paper Mr. Jones made the statement that Barbara Paul solicited about a dozen young boys at the Harrison and Pendleton County football game. Mrs. Paul did not solicit young boys at the game. I know this because I called parents for permission in support of Mrs. Paul days before the football game.

My intentions were not to “use” our children, as stated in last week’s paper. My husband, son, niece and other adult friends wore shirts or hats supporting Mrs. Paul.

Mr. Jones’s son was not in the group (which included students, some parents and friends) that met at the blue and white bus as support for Mrs. Paul prior to the game.

If his son was with them, referring to the students during the game, it may be due to the friendship his son shares with the young boys.

This letter was submitted for factual purposes only not as an attack.
