For the second time in two months, Chester and Robin King are searching for a missing family pet.
This time, they are pulling out all stops and offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of anyone who stole or killed their Walker Coonhound.
Pretty Girl has been missing since Aug. 10, just three weeks after their Rat Terrier Petie went missing.
Chester suspects that Pretty Girl was taken because he found empty meat packages at the end of his driveway on Riley Mill Road, which is near Claysville.
Chester talks about the family pet with tears welling up in his eyes.
Pretty Girl was running loose in the King’s yard and wearing her tags, which told who she was and to whom she belonged.
“She was loose because the racoons have been eating our sweet corn,” Chester said.
The Kings have had Pretty Girl for about nine months and estimate her to be about 3 1/2 years old. They adopted her from the Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter after she and a litter of pups were abandoned. The pups didn’t survive.
Anyone with information about Pretty Girl or Petie should contact the Kings at 859-954-0785.
