Michael King, who set fire to his couch and then told police the reason for setting the fire was because his wife left him, was sentenced in Harrison Circuit Court Tuesday.
King, 48, was initially charged on March 13, 2012, with six offenses. Two months later, he was again charged for offenses he attributed to love gone wrong.
King was sentenced to 10 years in prison for charges of first degree facilitation to arson, four counts of first degree wanton endangerment and first degree criminal mischief.
