The Keep It Real Contest is an opportunity for high school students to create commercials to reduce underage drinking. This year several Harrison County youth participated in the contest. The local Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy Board (KY-ASAP) presented an award of $500 for their top choice of the Harrison County entries. The winning video is entitled “Remember” and was submitted by, from left, Randi Schweitzer, Cindy Rognstad, Katelin Martin, Abby Besson, Ke’lee Malloy and Cory McCauley. Congratulations to these students in their efforts to reduce underage drinking! The video reminds teens that they do not have to drink to make memories. The clip was part of a project for TV media class taught by Laura Todd Simpson. This video and the other Harrison County contest entries, “Emily’s Scrapbook” and “Is Drinking Really Fun?” can be viewed by logging on to www.keep-it-real.us.
