Brenda Kay Brown, estranged wife of former Cynthiana mayor Jim Brown, has been indicted by a Harrison County grand jury on Thursday, Nov. 8.
Kay Brown faces a three-count indictment for financial exploitation of an adult (more than $300), first degree perjury and second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
According to the indictment, bond for Kay Brown was set at $500,000.
The first count alleges that between May 14, 2010, and Nov. 8, 2012, she “knowingly and willfully financially exploited James A. Brown...”
The grand jury further claims that on Oct. 5 2011, while under oath, Kay Brown made a material false statement that she did not believe.
The third count alleges that on Feb. 25, 2011, Kay Brown committed forgery when, with knowledge that it was forged and with intent to defraud deceive or injure another, she possessed and/or uttered a forged motor vehicle title.
