When the Harrison County Justice Center was built 10 years ago, it had a state of the art handicap-accessible chair lift.
However, time and weather have taken their toll on the lift and make it, at times, not Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant.
Harrison County Judge-Executive Alex Barnett said that having someone from the staff come out to engage the lift will soon be a thing of the past. And, what will be taking its place is a ramp that will have three switchbacks.
