Judge appoints attorney for Brown

A public defender was appointed to represent Kay Brown in her criminal defense in Harrison Circuit Court Tuesday morning.
Brown, who faces charges of financial exploitation of an adult (more than $300), first degree perjury and second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, asked for an appointed attorney and filed an affidavit of indigency Dec. 4.
Judge Jay Delaney told Brown that if he appointed an attorney and she later decided to hire her own counsel, the new attorney would have to follow the trial schedule that the court set.
