Former Cynthiana Grede employees received a surprising piece of mail recently when they were told their benefits would soon be terminated.
On Tuesday, there remained some confusion over what the local retirees and those who were left unemployed at Grede’s close in 2001 might face. Some are anticipating the loss of health insurance, life insurance and retirement.
Although Grede chairman Richard Koenings was unavailable for comment as of press time, a human resources spokesperson said pension benefits would not be affected by the bankruptcy.
