Inflated salaries buy the pennant

I love baseball.

All kinds of baseball, from Little League to Major League and all in between. I find t-ball and coach pitch a little tedious, but when my grandsons are playing, I watch them.

What I don’t like is the way major league baseball is going right now. In fact, it has been going this way for a while. The Yankees have a payroll of $221 million. The next closest to them is Boston at $120 some million or close to that.

The difference is even greater the closer to Pittsburgh that you get. The lowest salary among playoff teams this year was Minnesota at around $50 some million.
