Ideal goal in planting corn is to choose the optimum date

The corn planting season has begun for a few who are planting a large number of acres. With the current wet period it may be different to plant corn at the optimum time for the highest yield possible. Soil temperatures and wet conditions will determine how successful we will be for the production season.
Dr. Jim Herbek, Corn Specialist at Princeton Station, developed a fact sheet on planting dates which should consider all information when deciding on timing of planting corn. I have selected a part of this article for you to consider.
