Making a few energy efficient upgrades can pay big dividends and Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) in Cynthiana, Ky. is a perfect example. They have received a lighting rebate from Blue Grass Energy for updating their old style T-12 fluorescent and incandescent fixtures to T-5 fluorescent fixtures.
Working with their contractor, Energy Engineering Solutions, HMH completed the project in November. It is estimated the improvements will reduce their kilowatt hour consumption by 250,000 kilowatt hours per year which reduces their carbon footprint by 228 metric tons per year. They will also have an improved quality of lighting while realizing an estimated $15,000 in annual savings.
The rebate program is available to commercial and industrial accounts served by Blue Grass Energy. The purpose of the program is to help Blue Grass Energy members save energy and money while improving the quality of their lighting.
“A great number of businesses would benefit from an energy efficient lighting upgrade,” says Harold Cornett, Blue Grass Energy Key Accounts Manager. “We were excited to work with Harrison Memorial Hospital and provide this rebate.”
