A Harrison County teen was airlifted to a Lexington hospital Tuesday following an ATV accident.
About 7:45 p.m., Cynthiana dispatch was notified of a 17-year-old male having been involved in a 4-wheeler accident on KY 1744 (Kelat-Benson Road).
According to Chief Charles Allen Carson of the Harrison County Fire Department, the young man had been riding the ATV on the road when he lost control and hit a wood pile that was near the roadway.
The victim, whose name was not available at press time, was not wearing a helmet, Carson said.
The teen was going in and out of consciousness when rescue workers arrived, according to Carson, who added that the boy was transported to Harrison Memorial Hospital by Brown Ambulance Service and airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
His condition was not available at press time.
