Last summer, Harrison Memorial Hospital gave birth to its premiere Healthy Mom, Healthy Baby Maternity Fair. The response was so positive that we decided to make it an annual event, and the public invited.

This year's maternity fair will be held Saturday, June 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Dozens of vendors will be on hand to provide giveaways and information to expectant parents or those who are thinking about having a child. Entrance to this event is FREE and open to the public. However, some vendors will have products for sale.

Youll see vendors with information about breastfeeding, toys and books, child and maternity clothing, photography and nursery artwork, infant and child safety and countless other things new parents need to accommodate newborns. We plan to have two maternity and children's clothing consignment shops on hand to sell items. Books Are Fun will also hold a book fair, which will have gifts for mom, baby and Father's Day. Proceeds go to Toddler Village Day Care.

HMH physicians and health experts will spend the day sharing information and answering questions.

HMH's massage therapist, Terri Gerralts, will offer free mini-massages, and the OB staff will provide paraffin hand treatments.

The Cynthiana Fire Department will also be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to install car seats outside the HMH front lobby.

It wouldn't be a maternity fair without an abundance of prizes to be raffled off during the event. We have more than 25 prizes to give away to expectant mothers and families. One valuable grand prize--a complete set of nursery furniture--will be awarded to a lucky family. Other prizes will include a glider/rocker, baby equipment, lactation supplies, diapers and a multitude of gift certificates. Everyone who attends the maternity fair is eligible to win prizes whether they're present at the time of drawing or not.

But best of all, participants will receive a personal tour of our new Elizabeth Bailey Women's Health Center, complete with spacious labor, delivery and recovery suites, and the hospital's stunning newborn nursery. Prior registration for this event is not necessary.
