Harrison Memorial Hospital achieves national recognition for EMR initiatives

Harrison Memorial Hospital achieved stage six of the United States Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Adoption Model. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) created United States EMR Adoption Model to track the transformation from paper chart medical records to electronic medical records.  
There are seven stages to the model, and HMH has completed stage six. As of the end of 2010, 3.2 percent of hospitals in the United States achieved stage six, which places HMH as one of the most elite facilities in information technology.
