On Monday, Jan. 26 the Harrison County Extension Office will begin two weeks of educational meetings about growing vegetables in Harrison County. Dr. John Strang, Vegetable and Fruit Specialist from the University of Kentucky, will visit to discuss vegetable and fruit production. There will also be discussions about things needed to do in preparation for this years’ production season.
The following week, Adam Watson, Bourbon County Horticulture Agent, will discuss planning your vegetable production including planting dates, soil amendments and marketing your vegetables. There will also be a local producer demonstrate some of the equipment that can be used for watering vegetables and weed control.
