Traffic Cases
July 6 -- At 9:26 p.m., a non-injury accident occurred on KY 32 W within the city limits. Karlee Cooper of KY 32 hit a deer.
July 6 -- At 9:32 p.m., a car on KY 392 three miles from town caught fire and burnt the entire inside of the vehicle. Robert Hudgins of Salem Pike reported that his car had died on the roadway. Attempting to re-start the car, he saw smoke coming from the dash area. He evacuated the car as it caught fire.
July 7 -- At 5:27 p.m., a non-injury accident occurred four miles east of the city limits on Commonwealth Lane. Sean Sumpter of Oddville-Sunrise Road, was traveling south on US 62 E. Molly Dixon of Jones Lane was heading north on Commonwealth. Sumpter said he tried to avoid Dixon’s car, but could not get farther into a ditch because of a tree. They collided head on.
July 8 -- At 11:10 a.m., a non-injury accident occurred on US 62 W less than a mile outside the city limits. Joseph Cslank of Sellersburg, Indiana, was northbound on the Bypass Road, turning left into a farm access road. James Hall of Old Lair Road came from behind and began to pass when Cslank’s car turned into him.
July 9 -- At 3:13 a.m., a non-injury accident occurred on Stratton Road 10 miles west of town. Mary Cummins of KY 36 W. lost control of the car, went off the road and into a ditch. Both Cummins and her passenger, Donald Wedding, suffered minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.
July 10 -- At 5:15 p.m., a non-injury accident occurred on KY 3016 at the River Road Baseball Park. Jacob Adkins reported seeing a car driven by Cathy Harpe back into a parked car owned by Gary Kendall, then drove away. Inspection of Kendall’s vehicle revealed damage from the hit. However, the car alleged to have been involved in the incident showed no signs of damage.
CASE REPORTS
July 3 -- At 4 p.m., Samantha Perkins of Rocky Springs Road reported that someone had stolen her property that had been stored in her van. Among the items taken was a car seat, baby monitor and laptop computer.
July 7 -- At 2:45 p.m., Joseph Harman of KY 32 W. reported that property had been stolen. Because of an ongoing dispute involving ownership of the property reported stolen, Harman was advised it was a civil matter.
July 7 -- At 12:44 p.m., Gary Kendall of KY 1743 reported the theft of personal items from an area of his property near the railroad tracks.
July 10 -- At 1:45 a.m., Willie Burke of US 62 E reported that someone had broken into his barn and taken a can of gasoline. Burke reported that he saw the subject coming out of his barn with the gas. He confronted the individual, who subsequently dropped the can and ran to a waiting vehicle on Hugh Hand Road. During the investigation, a pair of Air Jordan flip-flops were discovered and are believed to have belonged to the burglar.
July 10 -- At 4:32 p.m., Steven Fogle, Sr. of Nunnelley Road reported the theft of an air compressor and car battery from his garage.

July 10 -- At 5:02 p.m., William Hill, 64, of W. Penn Street was cited on W. Pleasant Street for failure to wear a seat belt.
July 10 -- At 5:36 p.m., Elizabeth Gallagher, 45, of Federal Drive was cited on S. Main Street for failure to wear a seat belt, failure to be in possession of a driver’s license, failure to produce an insurance card and no registration receipt.
July 10 -- At 5:55 p.m., Jason Beverly, 30, of E. Bridge Street was cited on Oddville Avenue for failure to wear a seat belt.
July 10 -- At 6:06 p.m., Billy Hunt, 71, of Brierly Ridge Road was cited on Oddville Avenue for failure to wear a seat belt.
July 10 -- At 6:20 p.m., Shelly Mager, 41, of E. Pike Street was cited on Oddville Avenue for no registration receipt, plates and failure to notify state of address change.
July 10 -- At 6:39 p.m., Billy McCown, 49, of Federal Drive was cited on W. Pleasant Street for failure to wear a seat belt, no registration receipt, and failure to notify state of address change.
July 11 -- At 9:06 p.m., Tyler Wynn, 19, of Morning Glory Road was cited for no eye-protection, no moped license, and no registration plates.
July 13 -- At 2:40 p.m., Chelsea Ellington, 19, of Shawhan Road was cited on US 27 S. for failure to wear a seat belts.
July 13 -- At 3:08 p.m., Marcoa Soto, 43, of Webster Avenue was cited on US 27 S. for speeding 10 mph over the speed limit, failure to wear a seat belt, and failure to notify state of address change.
July 13 -- At 4:11 p.m., Perry Feeback, 43, of Riggs Avenue was cited on S. Walnut Street for failure to wear a seat belt.
July 13 -- At 4:20 p.m., Robert Waugh, 52, of KY 1842 N. was cited on E. Pike Street for failure to wear a seat belt.
July 13 -- At 4:35 p.m., Kalynn Nelson, 19, of Skyview Drive was cited on N. Walnut Street for failure to wear a seat belt.
July 13 -- At 5:20 p.m., Amos Brinkmeyer, 23, of Press Drive was cited on KY 36 for failure to wear a seat belt, failure to notify state of address change.
July 13 -- At 5:51 p.m., Erik Baker, 31, of Johnson Avenue was cited on E. Pleasant Street for failure to produce an insurance card.
