Traffic Cases
Feb. 19 -- At 5:23 p.m. a non-injury accident occurred in the roundabout at US 27 S. Kevin Thornberry of 2659 Ed Montoe Road, Falmouth, failed to yield the right of way to Bethany Cox, who was already in the roundabout. She struck the right front bumper of his car.
Feb. 23 -- At 3:45 p.m. on US 62 Bypass S. three miles outside of town, Alson Cole of 343 Raintree Drive was involved in a non-injury accident when a deer stepped out in front of his car.
Feb. 25 -- At 3:36 p.m., an injury accident involving a board of lumber occurred on US 62 E about nine miles outside the city limits. Paul Colson of 225 Shaw Lane was hauling lumber west on the highway when, rounding a curve, a piece of lumber fell off and went through the windshield of a car driven by Joseph Burden of 3069 Oakland Road in Brooksville, striking him in the arm. Burden’s family was in the car when the accident occurred.
Feb. 25 -- At 8:10 a.m., a non-injury accident occurred on US 62 E inside the city limits. George Puckett of 1084 Smalley  Branch Road  was traveling east when a dog entered the road. Puckett was unable to avoid striking and killing the dog.
Feb 26 -- At 8:56 p.m., a non-injury accident occurred on KY 1842 N seven miles outside the city limits. Wendi Snapp of 835 KY 353 went off the road and struck a fence and posts belonging to Charles Carroll.
Feb. 26 -- At 5:55 a.m., a non-injury accident occurred on KY 1054 S about five miles west of the city limits. Amanda Hannah of 188 Blake Lane, Berry, was traveling downhill south on Lafferty Pike when she applied her brakes at a stop sign and slid through the intersection into a guard rail. The road was snow covered.
Feb. 26 -- At 5:20 p.m., a non-injury accident occurred on US 62 W three miles south of town. James Callahan of 353 Oddville Ave. lost control of his car on ice and snow. He struck a plank fence.
CASE REPORTS
Feb 20 -- At 6 p.m., Cathy Coffey of Press Drive reported that she noticed that some of her medication was missing and believes someone has been taking it over a period of time. When asked why the report had not come earlier, Coffey reported that she had not noticed medications missing until recently.
Feb. 22 -- At 1:00 p.m., Nina Shotwell of 217 N. 1st St. in Berry, reported that between Feb. 18 and Feb. 22, someone broke into her vehicle and stole a battery and first aid kit.
Feb. 22 -- At 8:15 a.m., Robert Simpson of 9993 US 27 N reported that someone had forced open the back door of his home and stole a flat screen television.
Feb 23 -- At 10:50 a.m., Richard Perkins of 7549 KY 356 reported that someone had driven through his farm fence. A witness described the vehicle, but officers could not locate it.
Feb. 23 -- At 12:10 p.m., Anita Spencer of 11028 KY 392 reported that an unknown person had smashed the driver’s side window of her truck. Investigation showed that the glass had shattered outward, meaning that the unknown person had broken the glass from the inside of the truck. Spencer also reported that she had fired a rifle at a prowler on the property, which may be related.
Feb. 26 -- At 11:18 a.m., Cynthiana Police Officer Nathan Linville reported that his police cruiser slipped out of gear and struck a metal pole.
CITATIONS
Feb. 20 -- At 7:51 p.m., Eric Dale O’Brien, 19, of 3690 Salem Pike, was arrested on E. Pleasant St. on charges of  possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication.
Feb. 20 -- At 7:31 p.m., Dylan Taylor, 19, of 568 Brushy Fork Road was arrested on DUI and possession of marijuana charges after being observed driving recklessly on E. Pleasant St.
Feb. 20 -- At 7: 45 a.m., Jesse Flannery, 19, of 998 KY 62 E, was arrested on a charge of DUI and possession of marijuana.
Feb 24 -- At 11 a.m. Anthony Newby, 43, of 116 Marshall Ave. was served a criminal summons to appear in district court to answer charges of theft by unlawful taking under $500.
Feb 24 -- At 10:10 a.m. James Gallagher, 41, of 5188 KY 36 E, was served a criminal summons to appear in district court to answer charges of theft by unlawful taking under $500.
Feb 24 -- At 9:30 a.m. Brandon Williams, 18, of 116 Marshall Ave. was served a criminal summons to appear in district court to answer charges of theft by unlawful taking under $500.
Feb. 24 -- At 2:20 p.m. an arrest warrant was executed against Kathy Callahan, 48, of 411 E. Pleasant St. on four charges: Disregarding a traffic light, no registration plates, no registration, and license to be in possession.
Feb. 24 -- At 3:25 p.m., an arrest warrant was executed against Melissa Koutz, 23, of 601 Hillbrook Drive on a charge  of receiving stolen property under $10,000.
Feb. 24 -- At 2:10 p.m., a criminal summons was served to Glen Neace, 38, of 104 Fourth St. in Berry on charges of theft by deception, writing cold checks under $500.
Feb. 25 -- At 3:00 p.m., a criminal summons was served to Daniel Cline, 36, at the Justice Center to answer charges of theft by deception under $10,000.
