Traffic Cases

Jan. 20 -- At 5:25 p.m., a non-injury accident occurred on Hinton Webber Road about 16 miles outside of the city limits. Stephen Wiglesworth of 1245 Hinton Webber Road, was traveling towards KY 36 when a large white dog ran in front and struck the side of his truck. 

Jan. 29 -- At 7:40 a.m., a non-injury accident occurred on US 62 E about five miles east of the city limits. Kassie Brannock of 28 Hidden Acres Lane was was trying to pass the garbage truck that was stopped to make a trash pick up, when she rear-ended the truck. The garbage truck had four rear-facing amber lights that were operational at the time of the accident. 


Jan. 22 -- At 10:40 a.m., Katherine Price of 100 Fourth St., Berry, reported that someone was making purchases using her VISA card number, even though the perpetrators did not possess the card. Suspects may have used the number when Price used the card to pay her electric bill. The card number has been used to make purchases totaling in excess of $500. Fraudulent purchases have been made at Cynthiana Papa Johns, Leono’s Restaurant, and Angilo’s. Suspects have been questioned in the case, but no charges have yet been filed.

Jan. 27 -- At 1:30 p.m., Sidni Hawkins of 1449 Spider Road in Berry reported that Amberly Bruner had made an unauthorized purchase of a cell phone in Hawkins’ name. Records indicate the phone was activated on Oct. 11, 2013. Sheriff’s deputies were assured the phone would be returned to the office, which then will be turned over to Hawkins.

Jan. 29 -- At 5:05 p.m., Billy Vaughn of 2795 Salem Pike four miles east of the city limits reported that he and his family members have been threatened by a Pit Bull dog, the pet of Larry Lemons and Autumn Adkins who live across the road at 2814 Salem Pike. Later investigation showed that Harrison County Animal Control had given the couple a copy of County Ordinance 247 which prohibits ownership of dogs that chase and bite people or other animals.

Jan. 30 -- At 11:53 a.m., Roy Cope of 168 Blake Ln. reported that someone had broken into the rear door of property that he owned at 115 Blake Lane and cut a water heater out and removed it from the building.


Jan. 23 -- At 12:00 p.m., a criminal summons was delivered to Dwayne Moore, 30, of 208 W. Pearl St. for charges of theft by unlawful taking from a building $500 or more, but under $10,000.

Jan. 27 -- At 4:05 p.m., Ryan Bennett, 27, of 184 Overview Lane, was arrested for a probation violation.

 Jan. 28 -- At 10 a.m., a bench warrant was executed against Brittany Berry, 22, of 306 Plum Court, on charges of a probation violation and contempt of court libel/slander.
