Harrison County Night at Applebee’s

The 2010 KHSAA baseball champion Harrison County Thorobreds will be honored on Saturday, July 31, at Applebee’s Park when the Lexington Legends take on the Delmarva Shorebirds.

The entire Thorobreds baseball team will be recognized with an official flag raising between innings at the game, designated at Harrison County Night. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Coach  Mac Whitaker will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The state championship flag will fly over Applebee’s Park until a  new state champion is crowned in 2011.

The Harrison County Athletic Department will have 500 discounted tickets available for the public. Chairback seats will cost $6. Tickets will be available at the HCHS front office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. throughout the week, or contact Lee Kendall, athletic director, at lee.kendall@harrison.kyschools.us.

Legends cook-out in Cynthiana July 30

The Lexington Legends will be hosting a cook-out for the community during lunchtime on Friday, July 30, at the Cynthiana Chamber of Commerce in downtown Cynthiana.

Free hot dogs and Pepsi will be available between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

According to Justin Ball, director of events for the Legends, the team’s mascot will be signing autographs. There will be door prizes and a good time, Ball said.
