The fall cross country season got off and running last week with the Harrison County Thorobreds and Fillies competing in a pair of early season meets.

Last Wednesday, the Breds finished third and the Fillies finished third in an all comers meet at the Archives of Frankfort. Then on Saturday, in a step up in competition, the Breds were sixth and the Fillies third in the Pendleton County Invitational.

The Harrison County Fillies volleyball team went on the road and lost to highly regarded Lexington Christian Academy on Tuesday night in two straight games, 25-12 and 25-21.

Last second injuries and illness, contributed to the lop-sided loss in the first game

The Harrison County Thorobreds golf team lost its third dual match in a row on Tuesday night when they were defeated at the hilly Carnico Golf Course by host Nicholas County, 151-168. Eric Sanders led the Breds with a four over par 40. Nicholas County’s Zach Lemons was medalist for the day with a very fine 34.

Campbell Hall shot 41, Shalyn Barnes carded 43 and Tyler McNabb finished with 44 to round out the scoring for Harrison County.
