I used to believe the saying that “Time heals all wounds.”
This has just not been true for me. As a child who grew up with two alcoholic parents, I had some hurts and wounds that were not repairing themselves with passing time.
In fact, the longer I tried to ignore my pain, the more damage I did to myself. I searched for ways to numb the pain and ignore the damage that had been done.
