A Cynthiana police sergeant was recognized Wednesday morning in Lexington for efforts to keep drunk drivers off the roads.
Sgt. Wilbur Gross received the Governor’s Impaired Drivers’ Enforcement Award for the third year in a row and fifth time since 1998.
Gross, who has been a police officer for 16 years, three months, made 23 arrests this year and 13 last year.
“It’s great to be recognized for the job that we do, but I’m not out to get an award, just to get impaired drivers off the road,” Gross said.
