It was a children’s literature class at Western Kentucky University that caused Kinzie Gregg, 24, to think about becoming a librarian.

“It was just an elective class,” Gregg said Thursday afternoon. “It was awesome... You got to read picture books and juvenile books.”

It’s a passion for children’s literature that landed Gregg the position as Youth Services Librarian at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.

“I was more than thrilled,” Gregg said about the opportunity to work at the public library in the town where she was raised.

Gregg’s work at the library, which includes overseeing programs and purchases for the library’s youngest audiences began on June 29.

A graduate of WKU, Gregg went on to the University of Kentucky to obtain a master’s degree in library and information sciences.
