Harrison County Clerk Linda Furnish has issued the following dates and deadlines to help voters prepare for the Nov. 6 general election.
•Oct. 1 is the beginning of absentee voting for those who meet qualifications. Voters should go to the county clerk’s office to vote on a machine;
•Oct. 9 is the final day to register to vote for the Nov. 6 election;
•Oct. 30 is the last day to request an absentee ballot by mail;
•All write-in candidates should have their paperwork complete by Oct. 26 at 4 p.m.
Harrison County will use only the eSlate machines for the election. Anyone who would like to practice on the machine before election day, may go to the Harrison County Clerk’s office at 313 Oddville Avenue. Voters may also practice on a demo site on the internet. Search “eSlate demo.”
Those who need to check their voter registration may do so at HYPERLINK “http://www.elect.ky.gov” www.elect.ky.gov Voter information. Just need name and date of birth. It will tell you where you vote, etc.
