Recognition continues to pour into Harrison County’s Fillies softball program as Coach Christine Garnett was again named 10th Region Coach of the Year.

The award, which is voted by the region’s coaches, is Garnett’s third since becoming the Fillies head coach. This award comes the day after the Fillies’ Ashley Coppage was named Miss Softball and assistant coach Roger Coppage was named one of the East team coaches for the East-West All Star games.

Garnett credited her staff for the accomplishment.

“I could not do my job without one of the best coaching staffs in the state,” she modestly insisted.  “Glenn Lonaker, Roger Coppage, Tom Conley and James Paul Switzer also should be congratulated.”

Garnett has also been named to coach the Kentucky All Stars in their annual best-of-three series with Tennessee. This will be played in late June in Tennessee. She and the other coaches named to coach the all stars will be in Louisville this weekend to watch the East-West series to determine the roster.
